The final 72 hours!
We've have had a really positive campaign in Greenwich & Lewisham and now that we are just three days from polling day. Today I have been out across the constituency helping to remind the residents of Greenwich & Lewisham to head out and vote for Boris Johnson, myself and the London-wide Conservatives.

In the afternoon I joined Cllr Christine Allison and London MEP Syed Kamall in Lewisham.

This evening I joined Leader of the Greenwich Opposition Cllr Spencer Drury and Cllr Nigel Fletcher in their ward or Eltham North.
If you would like to get involved, please get in touch with the Greenwich Office, sign up to the email list and join the Facebook group.
Out of the ordinary communications
I have just seen this fantastic story which all started at my old primary school, Halstow Primary on Halstow Road, Greenwich. When a class of pupils at the school all released balloons with letters attached to them one of the letters came to land near the office of Sectary of State for Education, Michael Gove MP who wrote back to the schoolboy.
I remember doing a similar exercise, writing a note and attaching it to a helium balloon before letting it fly off from the playground!

Boris Johnson's Election Broadcast
Yesterday Boris Johnson published his Election Broadcast offering his positive 9 point plan for London.
Boris Johnson launches 2012 Crime Manifesto
After launching his Crime & Policing Manifesto on Monday 2nd April 2012, Boris Johnson, Conservative Candidate for Mayor of London and I visited Sydenham to talk to local shoppers and shop keepers about their views on London.
As Mayor, Boris has helped small shop keepers in Lewisham with the use of his Outer London Fund, which helped business in Catford. Whilst Boris was visiting Sydenham he popped into a number of shops as well as buy a coffee.
Boris told me what he had achieved with Policing in his time as Mayor of London:
"I am proud of the work of the Met in the last four years because in the teeth of a grim recession and against the background of rising unemployment they have continued to bring crime down almost 11 per cent overall with the Tube 20 per cent safer, the buses 30 per cent safer, robberies on buses down by almost a half, and the murder rate down by a quarter.
We have made great progress over the last few years.
We have secured the funding to keep police numbers high. I am putting an extra 1,000 police officers on our streets and I will maintain that through the remainder of the CSR period.
We have put more officers out on patrol with thousands more every year as a result of single patrol.
We are continuing to bring crime down and now I want a mandate from Londoners to bring it down further to bolster our Safer Neighbourhood Teams and to make London one of the safest big cities on earth.’"
Boris Johnson pledges to cut council tax every year
Mayor of London Boris Johnson has pledged to cut City Hall's share of Council tax, known as the precept every year of the next Mayoral Term if he is re-elected in May 2012. This is part of his plan to keep Council Tax low that has seen three years of council tax freezes, by achieving this he has helped to save the average London household £445.

Improving Transport at New Eltham and around Greenwich
This morning I was at New Eltham Train Station talking to commuters about what Boris has done to improve public transport in Eltham. I was joined by local Councillors Mandy Brinkhurst, Neil Dickinson, John Hills and Adam Thomas.
Local Conservative Councillors have been in discussion with Greenwich Council to improve pedestrian road safety around New Eltham Train Station.
Since he was elected in 2008 Boris Johnson has brought the Oyster Card system to the overland train network as well as increased the number of bus routes in and around Greenwich Borough, but perhaps his most long lasting improvement is currently being constructed. CrossRail, which is scheduled to open in 2018/19 will bring the long lasting improvement to infrastructure which London needs. It should reduce the pressures on other transport systems and open up areas for people to live and work in. Greenwich Borough will see two CrossRail stations, one station at Abbey Wood, which would link up with the train station and another station at Woolwich, which could link up with the train, DLR and river connections.
